Welcome!
Hi! My name is Austin Escamilla. I was raised and born in Leipsic, Ohio. However, I just recently attended and graduated from the University of Findlay. I received my degree in Integrated Social Studies as way to pursue a career in teaching. During my time at the University of Findlay really helped me solidify my passion and love for teaching. I love being able to support and guide young teenagers through such important aspects of their life and provide them with a safe environment. In this safe environment, I want to encourage a healthy learning environment for them so they can best succeed.
During my time at The University of Findlay, I was given the opportunity to be in the field three different times. For my first teaching experience, I was at Riverdale HS where I was responsible for teaching two different lessons. My tasks also involved the basics like making copies and building relationships with the students. For my second teaching experience during my junior year, I was placed at Cory-Rawson which is just a little ways outside of Findlay. While I was at Cory-Rawson, my tasks and responsibilities definitely grew, I was responsible for teaching 6 different lessons and also needed 10 hours of professional development. These tasks and responsibilities allowed me to effectively build friendly and caring relationships with each one of the students.
My final semester at The University of Findlay was my full time student teaching experience. I had the amazing opportunity to teach at Leipsic which was the High school I attended. Of course, my responsibilities and task’s definitely grew more and went along with the typical expectations of a student teacher. I was once again able to develop caring relationships with my students which helped me promote a healthy learning environment.
